Yes. I will start one. I really appreciated the fact that the previous did just that, including receipts etc. So far, I have just keptreceipts for service, tire changes but I need to do that for the things I do to my bike myself. I'm not too worried about gas mielage and I know I wouldn't take the time to track that. I just do a quick gas mileage calculation in my head for my own knowledge.

Anyone know about a good iPhone or more ideally, iPad app for such things? I would like the option to easily print the maintenance records out.

Cheers.

Don't know if there is one for Apple but I am using triplog on my Android and it is great. However I use it for my business vehicle. Works out you gas mileage as well

Last night I downlowded onto my iPad mini, an app called AutoCare. I'll have to give it some time to see if I like it. It's not motorcycle specific but you can add a motorcycle icon. I think that's the only difference between that and the car specific portion.

It keep tracks of fuel comsumption and service data. You can also set it to alert you to do specific types of service at either a particular date of mileage. Seems a little bulky and you have to put in a lot of data but I think it may work to keep track of things for me. I spent a lot of time putting in the service records from the previous owner. I hope that wasn't a waste of time.

Your service records are the most important, but previous service records give you a point from which to start until you perform your own service intervals. Your service records are then your base line and you move forward from there so the previous records may no longer be of any value.
The app sounds pretty good and you will find out what features are the most important as you go along.
In the meantime, ride safe and have fun!!

I'm rather oldskool....I actually use a pen and WRITE my service dates in the back blank pages of my bike's Owner's Handbook!

Crazy huh?

As far as fuel mileage goes....I don't care. Riding is not essential like my car and I consider it just for fun. The only thing that would matter to me is if my mileage suddenly plummeted showing that something was wrong with the bike.

I swear my MINI Cooper gets better mileage than my 4 cylinder 1200 Trophy though! It kind of makes sense that a fuel injected 4 cylinder car would do better than a 4 cylinder bike with 4 carburetors. Especially since I ride harder than I drive.

I'm with seeker. I'm old school too and keep written records. I'm not into ipads, app's and all the latest hand-held electronics stuff.
Well....maybe not exactly "written" as it's all on my PC. I make up service sheets and update them with stuff like the age of my batteries; age of my tires (tubes); last oil and filter changes; brand of oil and filters; tire pressures, etc., etc. I print the pages and tack them up in my shop and garage for easy reference.
I also list the many common and most used wrench (spanner) sizes for each bike which are metric, SAE and whitworth.
As far as gas mileage goes I don't give much thought to that either - unless as seeker said - it suddenly drops like a stone.
The cost of the gasoline is the cost of having that much fun!!
