Two weeks ago my old PC with a small HD and Windows XP finally gasped its "almost" last. The cooling fan was failing and the HD was so full the PC would barely operate.
I took it to the shop, and they said they could patch it up for a price, but highly recommended buying a new PC because what I had was so antiquated.
At first I opted for the patch-up, but then got to thinking that the time had finally come to bite the bullet and upgrade.
I shopped around and found an HP i7 Pavilion model with the upgraded Windows 8 OS and a large flat screen bundled with it. It wasn't cheap, but man oh man, does this thing ever work great!!!!!
And all this time I thought what I had was pretty good. It was junk compared to what I have now.
W8 will be a learning process, but at least I have a little more PC/internet knowledge now than I did 20 years ago when I first started.
During the down time I borrowed a laptop and was able to stay in touch with TT.
Today is the last scheduled ride for the vintage bike club and I plan to take in the ride.
I just did a walk-around on the T100 and it started after three tries. It hasn't been run in two weeks and has been sitting in the cold unheated garage all this time.
I've already put away the vintage bikes and the other two will soon follow.
Because of my wife's health I haven't been riding at all since 1 September. I think I was out twice.
September and October can be great times for riding (Indian summer), and I was sorry to lose the time this year, but family comes first.
If I take any pictures today worth sharing, I'll post them later.
