I saw my surgeon today for a routine followup. The last time I saw him in September he said he wanted to see full range of motion in my shoulder by today and demonstrated by flailing his arm around in a circle.
I thought that was being just a bit too optimistic but told him I would do my best.
I don't have full range of motion yet, and expected to hear about it from him, but when I demonstrated what I could do he said, "That's pretty damn good!"
He was very encouraging and urged me to continue with the physio and keep putting my all into it as progress will be slower from now on.
I assured him I was a hard worker, and not a slacker or a wimp, and will give it 100%.
He gave me a confident smile and said, "I know you will".
I'll see him again in another three months.
on Dec. 5 it will be five months since the crash, and except for extreme arm movements above my head and behind my back, my life is about 85% normal.
I'm pretty proud of what I've accomplished so far, but the road is still a long one.

Fantastic news! :y115: WTG :y18:

[/quote]No matter how long it takes your room here will always be ready for you!
Anyway: The "III Bonneville Ride" is only in late August!

Thats great. But tho it will take a bit longer, i think your timing will be just right so that you'll be ready to ride right about when the new Tbird arrives. :ya2: :ya2: :ya2:

Thanks for the kind words and smiles everyone :y115:
It's been a hard row to hoe but worth all the effort, pain and discomfort. Slowly getting my life back and doing "normal" things again has been wonderful for my frame of mind and encourages me to keep working hard.
The gains from now on will be the hardest to attain, and take longer, but I have no intention in slowing down. I'm determined to be as good as I can be.

Keep up the good work, Rocky. I knew you were too ornery...to let that thing keep you down. I, for one, am very proud of your accomplishments. I still deal with that crazy, messed up left side, and I refuse to let it dictate my life, and you have proven that you are not about to let your injuries hold you back either. You will be back to normal in no time. Keep up the good work. Nothing worth having is achieved without hard work and dedication, and you have both, so I am sure you will be 100% in no time. :y115:

Shyguy, thanks for the kind words of encouragement.
I keep forgetting that you were involved in a car crash a year or so ago and were injured as well.
Good on you for not letting it get you down and for what you have accomplished to get your life back too :y115:
