have you guys not seen how many people have already put deposits down ! I have not seen this with any other model they've released. At i think it's BA they actually started a thread to keep track of guys who put a deposit down already. And i've seen deposits mentioned at all the forums. I predict it will sell very well. In fact i saw an article predicting it will be thier best selling bike to date. If i'm wrong about this i can't imagine what all those deposits are about. It makes no sense if it's going to be a bad seller. you know what sells during bad times in the economy? Things that stir the soul. People can get money one way or another and will usually do so when something stirs thier soul like this bike is doing. I work in a music school that is uber expensive to go to, yet at times like this we have big numbers during registration. In fact, with all the people putting down deposits i gotta think that even if the sales are slow because of the economy, it will sell well enough even then and really take off once things get back to normal. But you must know that i'm the Tbird fanatic here right? And i have researched this bike all over the internet. I have yet to see any triumph stir things up like this and have people laying down deposits on a bike that has never been ridden by anyone except the testers ! Not that i saw anyone putting deposits down on say the new tiger 4 example, but even if they did it's a bike that was not new, just revamped. And i don't recall people putting down deposits and starting threads to list those who have or any of that. i gotta say, i'm a bit shocked that you guys don't see this. If i'm wrong i'll eat my UNI filter. :ya2:

I think it will sell well, relatively speaking. The economy is bad, so "luxury items" like this become low priority.

However, I believe it has two market niches...................

1) For those with Bonnies, Americas and Speedmasters who want more performance,
but cannot afford (or do not want) a RIII.

2) For HD owners who want a sweet torquey cruiser that is not an HD, but has some heritage.

heres a comparison. You can see how radical the difference is. Even the pipes are different. Straight instead of kinked. Now if they were only shorter the bike would be perfect.

[/quote] Those bigger slip-ons are for California epa only (to bad for you) The rest of us will be able to get the sleeker pipes in the rest of the country :y115: :ya2: dropping the bike an inch (different shocks) should make the rear fender look better (or just get a fatty Patty to rider on back with you) i like the way the tank has been cropped in the pic but it's also lost some of its fuel capacity (looks to be around 3 gal.) I'd rather have the 5 gal tank for real world riding . As far as selling or not, I'm definitly interested ,But I'll wait and see one in person before putting a deposit down or buying one. I'm guessing Triumph will make around 4,000 to 5,000 units world wide with the majority of them coming to the United States, so that doesn't seem like alot to have to sell, but maybe in this economy it might be a little slow going for awhile. The bike was already in the works and probably pretty much done when the money crunch hit a year ago ,so realeasing it now was the origiinal plan (good times or not) .

Good idea about lowering it. I would probably consider that, tho i'd look into what it would do to the handling first. On the pipes, hopefully there will be a good array of aftermarket offerings and maybe one like in the drawing. Of course i won't be in the running for those since they will likely not hit the market for a few years, and i will likely get some triumph shortie tors before that.

Seems the people (and i use that word loosely for them !) at the BA forum are all goo goo over this pic. They're so happy to see the old style badge and love the overall look. can't blame them, but they don't have a clue about that pic yet, and i ain't gonna tell them because they basically booted me out of thier forum a couple years ago for telling the truth. So lets just not let them in on the truth this time since THEY CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH ! :y24:

I noticed that too Dale. I look at the baseline pic and just consider it a rendition of what triumph was trying to aim for while designing the TB. Case in point ,the tank . While having some of the top shaved off to give the bike a more streamline look it would of cost on fuel capacity, which is also important for a cruiser. When it comes to the headlight , maybe they just went with a stock light bucket they found from a supplier instead of having one special made (mounting bracket to fit the tripletree) And the rearend being lower, may of had to bump the shock length up to accommodate two-up riding? The lowering and headlight bucket can and will be a aftermarket mod that won't be to hard to achive ,but shaving a tank and speedo nacell can and will be a bigger challange (costlier too). By the way some of those guys over on triumphrat aren't to receptive of the new TB either, I've seen some of your debates with them also, all I can tell you about that is , debating with them is like wrestling with a pig in the mud,, after about five minutes you'll realize the pig likes it !! :ya2:
