This one will be knocking on my door, its coming up the Mississippi river just on the east side witch will place the wind side right where i live tornadoes and all. I have got everything ready, 3 chain saws, a 4 wheeler plenty of rope and chain, ice and beer, hopefully the winds will be a little tamed down from the distance from the Gulf Coast. Its not my first rodeo but its always a roll of the dice with these things. I don't think it will top Camille or Katrina. Wish me LUCK.......TD

Although I am far away up here in the northeast, we expect the tail end of the storm to arrive here this week in a much weakened state - just the way - uh huh, uh huh - we like it.
I don’t like to wish misery on on another, but, I was relieved when it’s first projected course changed from Texas to the east. Unfortunately there is no good place for a storm of this magnitude to make landfall.

Well here she comes 16 years to the day that Katrina hit with 125 mph winds Ida hit with 150 mph winds. The thing i am really worried about is the spin up tornadoes that can come from anywhere, we are foretasted 75 mph wind gust and 45 mph sustained wind. There is a tree farm on the east side of my property that has165 acres of pine that are about 25 to 30 tall. This should give me protection that i didn't have with Katrina. I will catch up with yall in a few days, the lightning is starting up.

Well its finally over with, the eye of the hurricane came right over the town i live in and did very little damage other some trees and power poles that are down, even in the surrounding country side little damage is done. My yard has some leaves and small twigs down but nothing the lawnmower can't fix. We are very lucky south of us in Louisiana some levies broke, houses and business are completely gone it really looks like a war zone in those lower elevation parishes. Only a year ago hurricane Laurie did about the same damage and alot of people just moved, this part of La has had much damage done to it starting around 1965 when Becky came through and i remember it too........ Its amazing to me we escaped all of this time.
