HHHHmmmmmmm

Truly any of the 3 would fit the bill really. I would suggest a trip to the local Triumph dealer and test ride each and go from there.

I know what I would pick .......... but much like in choosing a favorite guitar.....until you feel it.....its all just lip service. ;)

Can only sit and feel, until I get my license. No test rides, yet.

I see.......well sit....stand feel....reach to the bars.....sit on the bike for 5 minutes in the riding position----still---- which FEELS more comfortable.
Ignore the salesman ......they will try and annoy you while doing this.... ;)
TBTH for a first bike Scrambler --- hands down. Pure basic bullet proof motorcycling at its core ;)

Keys beat me to my next comment, get your license and take a few test rides. I took a test ride on a 800 Roadie during the US release of the new Tigers and fell in love with the 800's. I thought I would be keeping my Girlie for a bunch more years but couldn't shake the feeling I got on the 800. Before that test ride I would never have thought you could base a decision to trade my Girlie on just one short ride.

With the comments above, ride each of your short list and maybe two or ten other bikes. You'll never know what really brings the smiles if you don't try them.

In my intro message I mentioned I was taking the motorcycle safety class in June. Here in CA, passing the class means bypassing the driving test at the DMV, getting a lower insurance rate, and maybe a lower interest rate if I finance the bike (which I don't plan on). This my time for learning, although it didn't take me long to learn I wanted a Triumph.

its a good job you cant afford it or you'd be staring in your own porn film

Well with a body like mine I'd be OK, I've changed the face to protect my identity
