And old mate passed away in November well got letter to pick something up from a freight company got and half of his tool shed is there I know his wife and kids have not much I feel so bad about talking this stuff I going to send it back in New year has anyone had the same problem

ye that's very unsettling ! but he wanted you to have it you could just send some money to help out, do a stock take of what's there and put a second hand value on it and send what you can afford .

I agree.
As long as the family won't be offended by the offer of money (some people can be too proud to accept a bit of charity), I think that's a good idea.
But you probably know the family quite well so will know how to handle that.

I also think Shane has a good idea and I agree he wanted you to have it so his wife may also feel offended if you send it all back. I would think she would feel that she let him down by not honouring his last wishes.
