The way I know Gavin as I do there would be no way on earth he would even contemplate it. He does not even allow anyone to ride his own bike and don't even think about even getting on it without asking. I always joke with him and beg him to let me ride his bike so I can see how it pops wheelies

I was sure that he would not really let you ride a customer's bike.

In actual fact he would not even let me sit on it and I we have been friends since around 1969 I can respect that though

Yes, that shows he is a man of integrity and respect for his customers.

Very nice, at first the gold wheels threw me but looking longer I started to really like the look.

The gold wheels also threw me but the more I see the photo, the more I think it wouldn't be right without them.

I like the gold wheels right off as they really make the bike pop

Update ...

All that is needed now are the brake/clutch/throttle/speedo and tacho cables and a chain, just ordered the cables from the UK. This magnificent machine is very close to completion!

As those who have followed this thread know, my Cafe Racer is being built by my friend Gavin Venter in Knysna. He has the unique combination of technical skills and vision to convert concepts into reality. Here is an example - a neat little 125cc Kawasaki he created for his girlfriend:

Even at school Gavin was a bit of an artist, he would come up with amazing drawings and ideas. This one is really something different

What I can see of that 125 on my phone it appears very interesting. I'll have to have another look when I get home.

So the bike has now been completed. I think it's quite magnificent, although I could be accused of being biased. But you judge for yourself ....

No, your spot on, it is magnificent, the tail section looks is really great too. Your going to get some looks with this one.

Yep. A great job however I think a little black with gold striping on the tail would tie it in with the tank a little better.
