Good news on the tank, I actually ended up phoning Gavin later on and he was telling me the tank he got for his Triton was so well done he was taken back that it was hand made
The one for the Triton was built by the same company but the father did it and he passed on. His son then took over and started building the tanks apparently
It's actually the son-in-law who's making the tanks. At any rate, he was most obliging and cooperative, so I stand by my earlier comment about their good service.
Some more pics ...
Quite a lot going on in this pic - lightened chain guard and brake stay rod, Hagon shock and rearset
The saga of the tank has finally been sorted out. Gavin fixed the damned thing himself after a crash course in welding aluminium. He took an angle grinder to the tank (after much trepidation), cut the base off and then ground away the previous welds. This left a bit of an all-round gap as the base was now slightly narrower, so the bottom edges of the tank were massaged in to fit the base and welded properly this time ... hope I'm making sense! Sadly the indents for the clip-ons couldn't be smoothly repaired so he used a little filler and hid this underneath a neat paint job.
The Bonnie has been progressing well, see for yourselves ....
