It's because they've done such a nice job on building it. I have a very high regard and a lot of respect for machinery. I alway have. I always loved Nortons because they had that classic look to them. . One Harley Davidson that I really regret selling, was my old 1941 Knucklehead. I should have kept it. It was an awesome bike liked all over the place, but cool just the same. I remember that when I'd kick it over, It'd have to retard the spark, then when it was warmed up I could un-retard the spark. I remember that it sounded just like an old Singer sewing machine, The pan head I think was the best sounding Harley IMO. But, I ended up putting outside oilers on it like they did in 1963 on all the panheads after that and all the shovel heads too. But this is a triumph site, not an HD site. So, back on topic. Has anybody seen the two new T120s yet? I really like the T120 Ace a lot. It's a really nice looking bike. The T120 Diamond is cool too. But I really like that T120 Ace a lot. It's a beautiful bike.

You're the only one who has to be happy and satisfied with your bike so enjoy TUP TUP
That's because, I've never had a bike that I like this much before. That's why I go on about it, like I do. Also, thank you Rocky for educating me about Triumph and why they are so much better built now days, than they used to be.
Plus, I paid a lot of money for my bike also, but it's worth every penny that I paid for it also, too. I haven't taken it on any overnighter trips yet. Because, I can't leave my mother alone by herself, for any longer than an hour, or she could burn down the house or really get herself into some real trouble, in a matter of seconds. The doctors are telling me now, that I've got about a year left with her before she doesn't even recognize me anymore. Plus, I also have to change her ostomy bag twice a week and clean it out, about eight times a day, everyday. With my hands and toilet paper. That's why I'm up so early. So, that I can get a good ride in, before she wakes up. So, it's 6:00 AM in CA. and I'm heading out the door for a ride. Have a great holiday folks. { But that's why, I like my bike so much}.

You get full marks for caring for your mother like you do TUP TUP
The modern factory that John Bloor built in England has all the very latest machinery and is on par with any other bike company.
They now have factories in Thailand (three I think) where much/most of the bits and pieces are made.
You mention the Ace and Diamond, beautiful looking bikes!!

I bought a 2017 T100 brand new last May (was sitting in the showroom for awhile and got a great deal), which is the first year switchover of the current generation bikes. THIS BIKE IS AWESOME! I have 3500 miles on it, ride it whenever I can, and have had zero problems with it whatsoever. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. And yes, people say... Wow, look at that old Triumph, it is beautiful.

I bought a 2016 T100 Bonneville that was still in the crate in the late fall of 2017 and put it on the road in the spring of 2018.

at the end of the 2019 riding season I had 22,000 KM/13,200 miles on the machine with no breakdowns/failures

I put new brakes and and replaced the factory tires on it at 20,000 KM

The bake does everything I ask of it but it is not a touring bike; for day trips it is great

I disagree! If you set the bike up, right. It can and will take you anywhere that you might want to go. I plan on going to Yellowstone on mine, this summer. I live in Ca. too. I've changed out the handle bars for the mini ape hangers and put forward controls on my bike and I bought the OME forward controls off of eBay too, brand new for 160.00$ the handle bars are OEM also, from eBay. That I paid around 75.00 bucks for and another 50.00 bucks for the OEM cables for the handle bars also off of eBay also. Next is the saddlebag bracket and a set of weather proof, saddlebags, a down sleeping bag, and a little one man popup tent, along with an air mattress. All that will break down, to fit into my saddle bags. Along with some other things, that I'll need to have a great trip with. So the bike can be used as a cruiser, if set up right. It has the power and reliability for long rides and IMO, it's a really comfortable ride for long distances, without wearing you out, if set up right. Just IMO.

I toured all over the eastern US on my 03 T100 putting over 80,000 miles on it with no problems. I had upgraded the suspension front and rear, removed the snorkel from the airbox, added free flowing 1968 mufflers, and a sheepskin seat cover. It made a great touring bike.

Not sure if you are aware, but the T100 is basically the T120 frame with the Street Twin 900cc engine in it. There is less content than the T120(single disc up front, no heated grips standard, etc).
Most bikes these days have ride by wire throttle as well and the ride modes are pretty easy once you get used to it. Hope this helps with your decision and you get the one you want.
I would go with the T120 myself, as you will not be wanting for power later, and the extra content is worth the upgrade in my opinion, but it is you that must be happy with your decision, so take your time and enjoy the ride.
I don't agree with Q, there is only one choice and that is to go for Harleys upcoming series. The last time I heard about was to get assure that we don't loose our license because it.

That may be the only choice for you; if so, go for it. Anything on two wheels is fine. But for me, that is no choice at all. HD is not on my radar. I have nothing against HD; i just prefer European bikes. The US just does not make a bike that I like.

Not quite sure what you're getting at? The original poster was looking at the Bonneville line. Don't think Harley has a similar style bike, unless this new"upcoming series" you mention compares to what the OP wants.

I disagree. I wouldn't own another HD for anything. I've owned my share of HD's. I'm very happy with the new Triumph's, and I really enjoy my Triumph Bobber. a lot. They're very nimble and they handle very well, have plenty of power and they don't leak oil all over the place. But, if I was going to buy something else, it would be either an Indian Scout Bobber or a Indian Chef Dark Horse or a BMW. I personally would never buy another HD, though. I've owned my share of them and never again. Indian has always been a better bike, than HD ever was. A good example, is a HD 45, will only go around 55 miles an hour. Unless you have the WR racing cams in it and good luck finding a set of those. Where the Indian 45 scout could go up around 65 miles an hour. Plus, I really like flatheads a lot, when it comes to V twins. They're very reliable and you can do a quick repair with a pair of pliers and some bailing wire. To get you down the road if need be. I can still use a stick shift on the tank, along with a rocker foot clutch. When I was younger and just out of the Army. I used to hang out with a bunch of older bikers with Hendersons, Indian inline fours, Excelsior's and so on . I had a good friend who owned a motorcycle shop also, that was called Antique and Modern Motorcycles. Who taught me a lot about motorcycles. I remember I was on the road and my generator went south on me. So, I found the closest HD dealer and bought a new set of brushes, along with an armature. Then proceeded to rebuild the generator in the parking lot of the HD dealer. It took me about 45 minutes to rebuild it and off I went.
