Bald Eagle

I snapped this photo of a Bald Eagle today with my phone.

It was rescued here in Pennsylvania as it's blind in one eye.

He said it's an adolescent and will grow to nearly twice this size when mature.

Beautiful animal
We have many bald eagles here and we see them all the time high in the sky or perching in trees.
A pair of eagles hang out at the lake where I have my cottage and we often see them scanning the lake for fish.
A couple of summers ago I watched one swoop down, grab a fish in its talons, and fly away.

Wow that is very COOL and they must get huge

Very cool. The adult females (the female is the largest) get a wing span of six feet and over (1.8 meters +). We had a nesting pair at Princess Place Preserve and they would visit us nearly every day. I have seen them catch fish in the estuary and and have seen them steal fish from ospreys. I was blessed to get to see their mating flight once.

Beautiful birds. Truly awesome to see them hunting and fishing. Heck I love seeing them just flying or perched in a tree. Thanks for the photo AJ.
