Carl Swoffard, james Phillips & I worked on the bike--it had lost the parking lights & the rear running light--it kept blowing both 5 amp fuses-- the minute you shuf the headlight in -it would blow---the problem was either in the running light holder--I un -plugged the running light in the headlight holder--presto you still have the rear running light...so for now at least I can ride at night now--I will get a new holder for the parking light and see if it fixes it--
I hope the helps some one....thanks Carl for all of your help this last month or so--ya'll take care!

The symptoms were that all other lights worked including the headlight and the brake light. There was no power to the tail light, and no power to the parking and light. I looked at the shop manual and determined that the parking light and the tail were on the same circuit separate from the other lights. I don't quite grasp the two five amp fuses unless each bulb has a separate fuse. We could find no visible breaks in the wiring and no obvious faults in the connectors in the wiring harness.

A common fault is insulation worn through and shorting where it enters the headlight bucket.
My front signals will quit every so often causing rears and dash indicator light to blink rapidly. Jiggled harness going from handlebar switch to headlight bucket and it fixed it. I'll have to find the fault someday, difficult to diagnose an intermittent problem.
Leftover Lucas DNA perhaps...
