well done Bryce

Thanks Harry. Really looking forward to camping out at the show for the week end. A few of us sleep over at the venue Friday and Saturday night to keep a security and fire watch.

Rub it in why don't you!!!! theres my bike spread all over the garage floor and your is all shiny and pretty and BLOODY GOURGEOUS:y154:

Can't rub anymore......my fingers are worn out. Something about these TSS's that wears fingers to the bone.

1st THANK you for the help on posting new threads, 2nd. The pinstriping On my Bonneville got a little oil on the side covers. Infact the original striping was done w/ that auto parts store tape. So I remedied the situation to the best of my capabilitys. #rd I dont get it. I'd have sworn that the Silver Jubilee was a 1977 and appeared as a stock 77T140 w/ Blue silver and possibly some red pinstriping. The side covers are also slightly different. Did they remake them? Or is the Silver Jubilee above a custom bike? UK model? Or was that style tank an option? You have me scratching my head. I Truly Love the traditional tank style and think the late 70s Tanks are the most appealing to my eye but is there a name for that particular tank you have? Is that what they refer to as a "toaster tank" I call em cafe tanks but They have grown on me. For my Bike I would love to get a set of stock headers and Dunstalls, as well as a set of extra tins to do a pro paint job in the Silver Jubilee, Possibly another front fender, A: To preserve the finish on my factory tins because they are just showing the slightest of cracking, and although I like side pipes I dislike that HUGE monster Muffler on my T140d, not to mention too much blue on the pipes is neve good and B: The Silver Jubilee 1977 w/ other tank is one of my favs. Lastly I need the gators and have found the proper pair. Not sure if I have a Norton front end but I was advised NORTON gaiters are the way to go... You need not answer My questions you have been very helpful so far and If I am being a thorn in your side tell me to shut up ;) How many Bikes do you have and what did you have pinstriped on that bike? everything? or side covers only? Regardless It is purdy!

Very nice bikes.
Is the last one (silver tank, red flashes) standard paint? I've never seen one that colour before, I like it.
All my bikes are in standard colours, the grey and red flashes is a quoted option for the ES (you NEED Bonnie by JR Nelson to get enough informaton to be any sort of anorak).

Same name, same bikes (ish) and iv'e got a bloody Land Rover too!

4 Bonnies is just plain showing off :y15:

Not really showing off, it's just another of my bad habits, that's all. Now if I were showing off I'd have mentioned my T160 as well

My Silver Jubilee is 100% standard UK model; the tank is the same shape piece of metal as my other 77 bike, but with the special factory paint job. The side panels are right for the model, but I can' t find a big enough photo of the US model to see if the same flashes were used - it wouldn,t surprise me if more than one batch were made, and there were minor differences.
On the subject of exhausts, Triumph were involved in racing for decades, and their silencers on the road bikes wre always the best compromise between noise and performance. Still don't like those long cigars? go and look at pictures of John Hartle and Malcolm Uphill ( and don't you dare ask "who are they?"

View attachment 6274This is the only kind of Silver Jubilee I have ever seen. Just noticed you are not from the states maybe thats the difference?

Yup, you've got the US model - as far as I am aware the only differences are the cowhorn handlebars and the peanut tank (our name for the smaller US one). I don't know of any name for the UK tank (the T150 square tank was referred to as a "bread-bin", but I've never heard of the UK shape being referred to as anything other than 'standard') Of course that means a different thing depending upon where on the globe you happen to be - yes I'm in the UK.

Did they not take bonneville and hold it??? idk what year... I know of them but cannot tell you mucj else.

John Hartle won the inaugural Production TT in 1967 on a Triumph Bonneville. Malcolm Uphill woun to 1969 Production TT on a Triumph Bonneville at an average speed of 99.99mph - he is the first man to be credited with a timed racing lap of the TT course at the magic ton. Wikipedia doesn't tell you much, there's a little more on www.iomtt.com - most of my info comes from old books, magazines etc.

You've got me Mike, I can't better that as I've just plain run out of bikesCRY

However, Its winter here in Brisbane and I'm just heading out for a ride so let me check the weather before i go... Oh look it only going to get to 22 Centigrade with clear blue skys:y54:

SD here are the pics of the rocker spindles and process update as promised.

The wear looks worse than it actually is, a small amount of linishing cleaned them up and with further polishing (another good tip SD) they now slide in and out nicely.

All the studs cleaned, sealed and fitted ready for the head.

IMG_0968.jpg

Spindles and rockers fitted but i can't find the new rocker spindle o-rings#@#$&

IMG_0983.jpg

All back together and running fine, so far with only a wee puff of smoke at start up.

Note to self: clean all the dust from between the fins....

IMG_0985.jpg

How this for a before and after.. a light buff improved the finish on the headers big time....

IMG_0981.jpg

Managed a short run this morning, the new paint on the barrel and head stunk for a bit but there is no signs of any oil where it shouldn't be (Yet) if I get some time tomorrow i'll re-torque everything and re-set the tappets so I can get her out for decent ride to bed those rings in.

Need to get that toothbrush out and try an get her all ship shape to Mr Sea Dogs standards:y15:
