Spent the last 3 days running around on the TSS just to re establish the road patina. Nothing to report. Now covered 900 miles since the top end rebuild and all is well. No hint of any escapee oil and the engine is purring. Only thing to do is ride

and enjoy the Dunstall music. Triumph symphony in A sharp. :y54:

Well i (We) actually made it to the Laverda Concours show last week, quite a big turnout and and some serious competition:y4:

These ones were immaculate and the pics do not do them justice, the TSS look like a junker next to themSAD

Great to see your TSS looking so great in amongst it Mike. Nothing there as rare as yours.

Thanks for the photos....my turn for a good drool. WOWDROOL

Were there many Laverdas there?

Yes, there was a nice selection of Laverda's but i did not take any pics. The Laverda Club of QLD started this show some years ago as small event held in a Brisbane park, and it became so big they had to move it to another venue in Cleveland. This is there 2nd year at this venue and it will only get bigger.

Mike...your TSS looks perfect. Really nice photos. We must get these bikes together some day.

Have been riding mine a lot lately and it is running brilliantly. All the work on it is being returned by the bucket full. A total joy to ride.

When the current period of rain clears the T160 will need a good run as well.

The Tiger 800 has been on Dual Sport duty a lot as well. Certainly the bike of choice for the wet weather and dirt roads into the rain forest. It's just so much fun on the dirt roads.

Your sand pit has got nice toys too. Really looking forward to the finished product of your artistic flair applied to the ES. Nothing like a good shed project to keep a man content.

Currently renovating a bath room...SWMBO can keep an eye on me there so the call of the road has its attractions.

One less toy now the Thruxtons goneCRY

SD, I really wish I did have some artistic flair, the problem with a project that had no real plan to start with (the ES) and has gone on so long is that you forget what you originally wanted! so now i just make it up as i go along or until something shinny or cool comes up on eBay and then I change my mind again....

Hopefully once i make my mind up about the cam i can get the engine back together this year:y7:

BTW has your mate done anything with the TSS he bought?

Just parked it in the shed. It's all original, however as with mine, will take a reasonable amount of work and $$ to get a nice runner out of it which is clean and tidy. Too many other projects and a modern Bonnie for the road. He has also got a beautiful low mileage '82 Executive ES with all the original touring kit, panniers, top box, screen sitting in there as well. Just register for the road, hit the starter and it will go anywhere looking like new !

Mike, great pics that bike is GORGEOUS!

Bryce, your bike is lovely, too; and I like your fleet. I agree with you about the Tiger on dirt roads. Mine is right at home on them.

Attached photos of the Norman Hyde rear mounted front foot pegs that I bought on ebay about 18 months ago. Finally got around to fitting them....been too busy riding :y92:

The mounting plates are billet aluminium machined to shape. I painted them black so as to suit the bike. These have rubber bushes which are attached to the original engine mounting brackets via longer bolts and spacers. It's a good design as it isolates the foot pegs from any engine vibrations, not that this is an issue with the TSS. The rear brake pedal is fabricated welded steel and black powder coated. The pad that your boot presses on is a bit large and ugly, so I will modify it in due course. The polished aluminium billet gear levers are very nicely made and the adjustable linkage has quality ball joints which have miniature grease nipples on the underside. The foot pegs fold up on both sides. This allows the kick start to be operated on the RH side and gives access to the main stand on the LH side.

Hopefully should find the time to take it for a ride tomorrow, weather permitting, so that I can see how it feels and see if the kickstart lever is going to get in the way.
