Re: Triumph 750 engine overhaul start to finish

Paul, I think I'm going to hijack you tread and post pictures here of my progress. Again thank you so much for your help.

So Yesterday I picked up the engine from Paul and I got home and began the process to mount it to the frame.

At the end of the night, after several adjustments to the Engine bolt spacers... we have an engine and frame, I took my time in order to avoid scratching the fresh powder-coated frame.

Love the black covers! Gives the bike kind of a no-nonsense "don't mess with me" gravitas.

Re: Triumph 750 engine overhaul start to finish

For what it's worth, Frank has joined a very elite group of classic Triumph owners that live in Laredo.

I KNOW it's less than 10 people, and I BELIEVE it may be fewer than 5. This, in a city of a quarter-million people with THOUSANDS of motorcyclists.

...and you should see his custom "Rice Rocket"...

Frank, you need to post pics of your "Rice Rocket".

Re: Triumph 750 engine overhaul start to finish

Progress has been Slow but steady.

Waiting on Powder-coted Rims and drums to get new spokes, Tank was completely striped and is about to get the inside coted. Been working on small details like headlight mounts, Handlebar mounts, and mounting(hiding) electronics.

Any how.. here is a pick from the weekend,

Re: Triumph 750 engine overhaul start to finish

Sorry guys for not posting in a while, here is some pictures of the progress:

Got the Rims Powdercoated, and sent them to Buchanans to get Laced. Also got some Firestone tires from Coker tire. The tires are wider than the originals 4.50 in the rear and 4.00 in the front to get the look I'm going fore. Also note that in the front I'm running a Conical Drum Brake from a '71.

Re: Triumph 750 engine overhaul start to finish

I Bought a 2-1 header from Paul at the time I bought the bike, but never test fitted it. So When I finally did it fit fine but exited on the Left side and required to remove the center stand. This would not work for me due to the fact that I grinded off the Side stand along time ago, so I need the center stand. also I think the bike already has too much going on that side, rear Brake, Chain, and center stand.

So I used the header pipes and reworked this collector and fabricated the right side piping. Copy of IMG_2682.jpgIMG_2674 - Small.jpgIMG_2677 - small.jpg

Re: Triumph 750 engine overhaul start to finish

Made some serious progress...

Finally finished the headers and Muffler set up(paint was drying when I took this pics).
I also had to go back and fix the bottom Oil sump plate(leaking), and Ceter stand (Clearence issues) and took my time on a buch of small issues.

Installed the front Wheel and.... ta da.. folks we have a roller.

here is a pic of the first roll out of the garage on its own wheels....

Next small projects:

-Chain Install
-Rear Brake rod install and adjustment
-Electrical Wiring
-Tank Paint and pluming

I will take some more pictures this weekend in better light.
