Great pictures! 15C that is summer weather over here!
If my memory serves me correctly, doesn't Wayne Gardner come from Wollongong?

Yeah, our winters are reasonably short and not too hard to put up with.
Wayne grew up very close to me. The bike shop that I worked in at the time (Kevin Cass Yamaha) sponsored him in his junior dirt track days and for a very short time on the tar. We were in the same club (WMCC) and all socialized together, in fact the first time that Wayne went tar racing (Oran Park) he came second to me. That was a long time ago.

Just took a bit of a walk all the way up to Battery park, feel quite beat now need to sit and rest BGRIN What a stunning area I could never become tired of riding around there. One thing that always stands out is how crispy clean everything seems your side

Sharron and I just raced in to catch up with you but must have just missed you. :y8:

While waiting to see if you may be walk back the other way I gave the defences an inspection and service.

They fire the old cannons at the fort, Castillo de San Marcos, in St Augustine daily. Those are from the Spanish era. Love that black powder.

Wow, we can't compete with that. On the other hand what could they take from us, possibly a kangaroo and a few convicts?
That's impressive and good that it is looked after.

It is cared for very well. It is a National Historic Monument and cared for by the National Park Service. St Augustine is the oldest city in the US predating the English settlement in Virginia by 50 years or so. There is another fort, Fort Matanzas, about eight miles or so south of St Augustine that can only be reached by boat. It protected the back door approach to St Augustine. It is also a National Historic Monument.
