Get this...at 10pm he calls to tell me he took his family to dinner and didn't get back till 10 ! Gee, think he could have let me know ! So he wants to call tomorrow and make another appointment. But if the other guy emails me he gets first crack. I hate this.

[/quote]I don't know Dale ,Maybe get them both there at the same time? High bid wins (for you anyway) :y115: i wouldn't tell either one of them someone else is interested in it. None of there business ,only yours, But I sure wouldn't loose a sale to the first guy over a $100 on the assumption that You might get that extra $100 from the next guy. Besides if it sales in the next day or two you'll have a month being bikeless to work some overtime for some extra cash to go towards the TB,right? Have you asked the dealer what kind of time frame your talknig abut for delivery on a perordered TB? Because I read somehwere from someone that preordered a TB that his conformation E-mail from Triumph had his delivery date around the middle of July?Don't know how accurate that info is either. Out of curiosty what are you asking/wanting for the Speedie?

Well, i just told buyer #2 to call me. He emailed to say he can look at it tonite not long after i get home. I emailed him after #1 never showed or called, and i can't sit around expecting him to call again etc. So once i told #2 that he is clear to come by, #1 loses his turn. This is the reason i say i hate this.

arkyrider....i think i saw that same post, i believe at the RAT forum tho i could be mistaken. Anyways, that guy said they told him july for the accessories he wanted the bike to have installed at delivery but that the bike will still be here in june. I talked to a triumph rep too and he seemed sure of the delivery date. Plus you gotta figure triumph would be putting themselves in a very precarious position for a whipping if all the preorder customers who put money down expecting it in june were told it would be later.

Yeah, and barring a later version of the Tbird with standard instrumentation and other things i would deem huge improvements worth of upgrade, the bird will hopefully be my last bike. The speedy would have been had it had 80PH and torque. And judging from what they did to the speedmaster when they did thier first major change in '08, chances are i will prefer the original Tbird. So hopefully this will be the final bike for me before the big dirt nap.

My point exactly ! :ya2: It's just personal taste, but no amount of power would make me buy a R3. I even prefer my speedy, as anemic as it is by comparison. But then i don't need that kind of power. Tho if i did i doubt i'd have one just because i found the engine's feel and sound really not to my liking in a huge way. i really wanted to like that bike, but the Tbird i don't have to try and like it....the thing just turns me into a quivering lump of jelly. :ya2: seriously...with the BB kit the Tbird is 100HP, and i really do NOT need or want more than that. Even the stock 85 with all that torque to back it up will likely be enough. especially when you consider it makes 85 HP at 4700 RPM !

Yeah Carl, but i don't think i'm destined to be around nearly as long as most. So i think it will be my last not only because of that, but because i intend not to use it for work commute 3 months a year like i did with my speedy. I want to use it for recreation only, and i intend not to put a lot of miles per year on it. And you could be right, but i intend to make it my last if i can. Of course you never know what tempting tidbit triumph could unveil in a few years to temp me yet again. :ya2:

On a side note, if i ever find a place to live that is either mine or a very stable long term place where i have the room, i would like to buy a honda 750 shadow as a second bike for commuting in order to save miles on the Tbird and still be able to bike commute in the summer. I like those bikes and they're dirt cheap and get great mileage. You can pick em up used all day long for $3000-3500 in new condition. If i was a more casual rider who wasn't into bikes the way i am, that would even make a good only bike.

That would make an ideal second bike for commuting. When I was employed, I had a county truck to commute back and forth to work in. I still averaged 8000 miles per year on my bikes. But from where I lived, a round trip to the nearest store was 22 miles.

Nope. The 2nd guy called but i think he was only interested if i dropped the price. He was going to come at 6:30, but after i said not to a price cut he said he'd maybe call back next weekend. I wouldn't of course bet a nickel on that. But he DOES live a good hour away so who knows. The first guy never said he would want to re-schedule today, so hopefully one day this week or on the weekend. Other wise i'll just keep it listed. After all, if i got 2 potentials already i shouldn't have a problem selling it within a couple weeks or so.
