why is this setup won't work? is it hard for the oil pump to suck than push?
this way the engine will get fresh oil and cooler one am i right?

Yes, the oil pump SCAVENGE pump is better off doing the work of pushing the dirty oil through the filter. Also, this leaves the least restriction for the MAIN pump draw through, to feed the crankshaft.

I bought a NOS oil filter mounting block for a Harley on ebay for $20, it looks just like the Norton block but it has an additional bracket that comes with it, (I was planning to discard the bracket and use the muffler clamp on my T100R), and it uses a cheap $7 filter I bought on amazon.

I shouldn't have any problems being it is for a HD, right? I am thinking it is a direct copy of the Norton besides the part that the oil filter screws on to.

Looks good to go to me! TUP

It looks good to me too.
I have one of those fitted to my '70 T100S. They generally don't come with a mounting bracket (some kits do; some kits don't) as you usually have to make one of your own to fit your particular situation.
For me, it was a lot of trial and error until I had a bracket shaped correctly so the filter cartridge would tuck up under the gearbox out of sight in the vertical position.

The only negative on it coming off a HD is that the filters will cost you a Hundred Dollars. Just kidding. The electric starter system on my '79 Bonny is actually a HD starter system.

I was on this classic glory site: http://www.classicglory.com/triumphc/ and selecting improvement & maintenance then the lubercation system link and he had the desription on how to do it so it gave me the idea to seach Triumph Talk for some pictures and a DIY and found this thread. However, last night I found this great DIY by http://www.gabma.us/docs/oil_filter.pdf so with all the good example from these 3 sources it should go pretty smooth. I am probably just using the exhaust hanger on my 500 like how it is setup on the last page on the pdf.

Glenn's bracket design is a really, really nice piece of work, but unless you're a machinist it's out of the range of most of us.
The important things are for the bracket to be fairly substantial in order for it to hold the weight and not vibrate too much, leading to a fracture, and to be solidly mounted for the same reason.
Good luck with the project.

Rocky, a good point about the vibration. I have found that when I have a vibration problem I use rubber grommets in the mounting hole to give some cushioning to reduce the vibration.

Regarding the spin-on filter location, for those who have done this, any issues with debris from the tire damaging the filter in that location?

Do you remove the original filter screen when a Norton type filter is fitted so it does not have to be checked/cleaned periodically?

I used the same clamping system but I made up a small bracket to turn the filter 90 degrees, the filter is tucked well out of the way and there is no need for any sharp kinks in the oil lines.
Just another option!

Did you remove the original oil filter screen in the sump so you would not have to deal with that 'and' change the screw-on filter? Thanks,
Tom L.
