Is the damaged throttle cable a Bowden cable or Fly-By-Wire? If it’s a Bowden cable and has been rubbing they should put it back onto the road for two weeks, they take huge punishment. If Fly-By-Wire you better leave it in the shop.
 
I actually have no idea what kind of cable it is, I'm assuming fly by wire. I have NO idea why parts take so long to get here....Italian bikes are even worse...you need a part for an Aprilia and you will be lucky if you aren't out for the rest of the season. Is it faster to get parts in the states? Here unless you ride a Jap bike or a Harley you are pretty much screwed.
 
Some parts are slow from Triumph in the US; others are fast. Some parts for the new Tigers seem to be slow all over - even in England. The dealers here are pretty good about stocking high turnover items, such as the kits for the 12,000 mile service.
