Hi folks,

Having problems starting my 2008 T100. The battery shows 12.75 volts so it is decent for starting. However it recently began to barely turn the engine over, not fast enough to fire it up. It will start if if I charge the battery to over 13 volts. I am thinking the starter motor is weakening. Low mileage bike that runs great. Anyone had this issue? Thanks in advance.

I would have the battery load tested. Thinking that may be the issue. How old is the battery and has the bike been ridden regularly to keep the battery charged? If not ridden regularly, then as Greyfell mentioned, a trickle charger is your friend.

Battery maintainer in place but the engine is barely rotating. Rectifier issue? Has anyone used Rick's replacement one. Getting a strange, mainly low, voltage reading when it is running.

Thanks for the comments. I think I have found the answer. I bought, from Amazon, a Lithium Iron battery MMG-4. $108. It has about 300 CCA's as opposed to 175 on the regular battery. It is so light and smaller than the regular one. You get 2 nicely fitting spacers that elevates the battery nicely. Early days by all is great at the moment.

I had this problem the bike won't start if the volts drop below I think11volts it tells the computer there are not enough volts ,thats why triumph tell you the bike has to be on triple charge .so I have by passed this. or you can put starter button in the relay ,I can leave the bike for weeks and always starts
