One other thing Steve,
If the brake people tell you just to use a bit of silicone sealant on the back of the pads, then make sure it is a neutral cure type, the acid cure ( smells like vinegar ) will corrode untreated metal.

Devo,

With this goo ya speak about......what about when it comes to change the pads, can you get this goo off the caliper before putting in the new pads. Im gonna go online here and look up this goo.

Cheers :y18:

Ride safe

Steve

Steve,
when you apply the goo to the back of the pad, it is a THIN smear and you try to avoid the area in the middle where the piston is in contact with the pad. You then give it a little time to go of before reassembly so there shouldnt really be any goo on the caliper.
This product is a resonance damper rather than a cushion between parts.
I hope this is as clear as mud.

I have sprayed squeaky brakes with a product called PB Blaster. It is a penetrating oil and smells like deisel fuel. It'll stop squeaks, but the brakes will be a little slick for a few miles.

Spray an entire can of silicon on the rotor, caliper and pads. You won't stop but the squeak will be gone.

....and don't forget to Armor-All that saddle, pegs, and grips prior to the first ride. :y115:
