It's the correct area- it's just that my answer is 100% wrong.

I think that within a week I shall be trying electronic cigarettes again (for the second time). I think, and hope, that the answer for me to give up lies with them.

More so than Heroin I am led to believe. SAD

".....and curse Sir Walter Raleigh - he was such a stupid get"

A brownie point for the first to identify that lyric without using a search engine.

Actually, he got tobacco from the American Indians. They used it ceremonially and still do.

Wasn't that 4 fellers from across the pond that appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show back in the early 60's.

I kind of cheated, the song played on our office sound system and when I heard it I replayed it and listened a little closer. . . At least it wasn't goggled. :y2:

Never smoked. Into outdoor pursuits, scuba diving, running, bush walking, motorcycles, sailing and loads more things that left me penniless, happy and very fit. At 17 seeing my Old Man (Dad) die at 54 years old of a smoking related disease was very convincing. Fully understand the powerful addiction as my younger brother is a heavy smoker. Very much admire those who have a go at giving it up. TUP

Re-visiting this thread brought back a memory I had all but forgotten.
When I was around 12 years-old I found an old well used smoking pipe in the house. My father smoked cigs so I knew it wasn't his or be missed if I took it.
A friend and I went around our houses and collected cigartette butts from the ashtrays and took the tobacco from them. A couple of days later we put the tobacco in the pipe and lit it.
We puffed on it and and blew out the smoke just like we were really smoking. After a while we began to get dizzy and feeling very sick. We stopped puffing and sat around in mild agony on the verge of vomiting.
It took a couple of hours for us to recover, but we got over it and never did that again!!
Whatever had been put in that pipe over time certainly had fermented into something awful!!!
