Was able to take a nice ride yesterday to visit my parents on their farm. Loving the bike, but I think I have an ECU issue that will need attention at the first service. Several times now I get the warning that my traction control and abs have turned off while cruising down the road at 65mph.

I just saw another rider (another forum) with the same problem as you. Looks like an easy fix... Maybe contact Triumph directly or be sure your dealer does before you take it in. This guy had to take it in a few times. The apparent solution was...

"Dealer confirmed advice from Triumph was that the wires run close to each other under the seat and some kind of repositioning resolves it. "

Here is a link to the thread.

Please let me know when you get to Florida. I would love to meet you in person.
Hey Carl, totally forgot to contact you. I have been in Daytona since January, but headed back to Iowa in 2 weeks. Where in FL Are you located? I didn't bring the XC. In fact I bought an XE and traded the XC for a Bonnie T120. I have the Bonnie in FL and sold the Suzie.

I am in Altamonte Springs between Orlando and Sanford. I will PM you my phone number and address.

Hi guys..
I have just bought the Steve McQueen Scrambler... what a bike !!
I am only 5'7" and the XC would have suited better... but i wanted the McQueen so i bought lowering springs from Tec Parts here in the UK.

Last year i bought a new Tiger 800 XRT (changing from my 2013 Tiger 800) so along with my Bonneville i now have a "Trio of Triumphs"..

If you have to choose between the Scrambler and the Tiger then i would go with the Tiger all day long...its lighter, more versatile and my wife and i regularly pack up and go touring for a week at a time. All the luggage you need, plenty of power with two up.. and fun.

However, this McQueen Scrambler is a different beast... loads more torque, much higher seating position but not as comfortable.... the seat is ok but after an hour or so you get a bit numb... Only done 120 miles up to get so im hoping it will settle down and get even better.

If its versatility you want.. go for the Tiger (i love mine).. if its raw power and fun, go for the Scrambler... it really wants to pull your arms out when you blip the throttle !!

Better still... do what i did... HAVE BOTH !!

Whatever you decide to do, have fun and ride safe :giggle:

I have just re read Dr Joe's post and agree with all of his comments , especially about the sound.. its awesome..

My only complaint so far really has to be the headlight... i was out riding in some twisty dark roads last night and considering it is LED it is no where near as good as the Tiger's LED headlight....

Hopefully that will be my only gripe...

What a beautiful bike! I now have a 2020 T120 Ace, and a Scrambler XE. I traded my XC for the Bonnie. Completely different beasts, and I love them both for different reasons. I have never ridden a Tiger, I am afraid it I do I will also have a trio, plus my big Indian. BTW, try adding the fog lights if not equipped already or adjusting the headlamp aim.

Great looking bike. TUP

I have yet to find a stock seat that was comfortwble4 for long distance riding. I have always replaced my seats. With my T100, a sheepskin seat cover did the trick,
