Yes I think you are fine shape. You have two amazing and different bikes with that same awesome engine. I think the Speed Twin is pretty cool too. Thanks! With the X-pipe decat and BC Sleeper Pro muffler, it sounds amazing.
Joe, thank you for the tips again.Yes. I belive that the 1st day was the bloodiest in WWI with nealy 20,000 allied soldiers dead in the 1st few hours. Brits really miscalculated that one. More died in WW1 than in WWII. In many ways, WWII was just the end of WWI after a 20 year hiatus.
So, you made the plunge! So did I in a way. I traded my XC on Saturday for a slightly used 2020 Bonneville T120 Ace. In may ways that is a downgrade. The bike is a bit small for me, but that makes it easier to toss around. Also, I had the XC decked out with a bunch of Triumph accessories (side bag, heated grips, grip protectors, fog lights, TPMS, and more), I'd go on but it makes me sad and a bit sick. However, my Bonnie had a bunch of upgrades done (de-cat X pipe, exhaust, cruise, heated grips, suspension and more). Overall I paid in to get basically an inferior bike. I only did it because I decided that I just liked the XE better than the XC (especially after I took off the handlebar risers) and keeping both was just redundant (even though they are really different bikes from the rider position point of view). Anyway, I already miss my beautiful XC. The only way to get over that, will riding my XE! The pic of my XE is at Baxter Cycle, and the Bonnie is on my driveway after a bath. I bought it clean, but after 70 mile drive home, in 90+ degree F weather in Iowa, the bike and I were covered in bug blood.
I miss (almost) every bike I ever sold, so I get your desire to get your Multistrada back. Hell, who can live with only one bike? We just need more hours in a day and more good weather days in a year to ride them all.
Best luck with your XE. I think you made a great choice. Ride safe and maybe we can meet up sometime. I used to live in MN, my wifes whole family is from there, and I have a son who lives there so we get up there quite often.

I'd avoid the bluetooth option. I was going to do that but I looked into it and found that they just don't have all the bugs worked out. I understand there are a lot of issues (e.g. lag time cuases voice promt to have beginning cut off). I have the Triumph "Tall" windshield on mine, but it is only good to keep bugs off the back of the gagues and toss the wind directly into my neck. I know that there are aftermarket larger alternatives. Maybe some one else can help you with that. I think a windshied will transform this into a nice touring bike. It certainly has NO problem passing anything on the interstate. Honestly, I am not a speed demon at all but I was riding on a 65 MPH road and I wanted to hear the engine wide open. So I twisted the throttle and looked down a couple of seconds later... and this is what I saw.Anyone have a preferred wind screen for their Scrambler?
Also wondering about adding the blue tooth option to allow for turn by nav?
That makes sense. ThanksIf you have a smartphone and a helmet Bluetooth such as Cardio, you already have turn by turn navigation with voice. Just pair your smartphone with your helmet Bluetooth and open up Google maps on your smartphone. I have a mount for my phone on my handlebar and I plug my phone into my power socket so it stays charged. As a bonus, the Google maps stay updated.
yes, very interested in removing the snorkle. I will search youtube as well.I'd avoid the bluetooth option. BTW, an awesome free mod is to remove the air snorkle. It is a 1 minute job. The snorkle diverts air away from the filter, in case you get water in the intake it wont ruin a paper filter. But that makes the air turbulent and on heavy throttle reduces air flow to the engine. But the intake is under the seat and well protected. Unless you are wading through very high water, it should not be an issue. After you remove the snorkle, when you open up the throttle (you are in break in period so no opening the throttle yet) the engine is like 20% louder and sounds absolutely amazing. If you are interested I will try to find the youtube link where it is well explained.

You are welcome. That makes sense. Thanks![]()
Congratulations on the new bike buddy! Just be careful with the throttle junction. I gets heated up sometimes if you like to go hard on the road with it.Just bought a Scrambler 1200 XC with Escape Kit. I test rode a 2017 BMW F800 GS, a Honda Africa Twin, an FTR 1200, a Scrambler 1200 XE, and sat on a Ducati Desert Sled (Dealer could not allow test ride). The Scrambler 1200 is the most comfortable bike I have ever ridden, right out of the box. A big part is the bench seat. I can move back (and around) where I am comfortable without being pigeon holed into a spot (like the virtual saddle of the multistrada) which inevitably pushes me toward the tank.
I am still second guessing if I should have gone for the XE. I am 6'6". These are big bikes (not quite Africa Twin Big), and I felt even more comfortable on the XE, which is a bit larger bike and even has adjustable handlebar height. However, I didn't have the best experience on the XE as it seemed to wander a tiny bit here and there on the test ride. Sort of unnerving, like going over a bridge grate, but I was on asphalt . After the ride I even checked to see the bikes had the same tires (they did have Metzeler Tourance). The dealer thought the tire pressure may have been an issue, because he thought I was only coming for the XC and did not pre-check the pressure in the XE.
I do "0" off road riding, save a gravel/dirt road I may run into by accident out here in Iowa. It is simply the bench seat and bike height that drove me to the scrambler market. So, between the factory installed Escape Kit on the XC, along with the fact that it is designed for more on road the the XE, I got the XC and just ordered Rox Risers for the handlebars.
Looking for any words of wisdom, tips, or any chatter in regard to the Scrambler 1200. I am happy to try to answer any questions or give my opinions if anyone is curious.View attachment 44438
Thank you! Not sure what you mean by the Throttle junction? So far I'm liking the throttle response and fueling although I just filled it up with USA 87 octane which means 10% ethanol and it does seem to run a little differently than it did on the first tank of gas from the dealership. Maybe they had filled it with 91 octane? Looks like the manual says 87 is okay for this engine.Congratulations on the new bike buddy! Just be careful with the throttle junction. I meant it ion the ling run. When every you go for a service makes sure you ask the expert guy to have a look at the throttle and make sure there is nothing wrong with it. I was wondering what exactly is the "escape kit" you mentioned?Congratulations on the new bike buddy! Just be careful with the throttle junction. I gets heated up sometimes if you like to go hard on the road with it.
Thanks for the explanation. It was a bunch of options all on the bike, like the "Showcase". Not sure of the difference, they may have just changed the name from Escape to Showcase.
