It's the same ritual every fall, this week I finished mothballing my bikes for the winter, sigh!
Last Wednesday was a beautiful mild day at around 15C (59F) so that was the day to warm the oil and change it.
The bikes are all inside where it's warm and dry, but wouldn't you know it, the past three days have been very mild and some of my buddies are out riding to coffee, lunch or taking a short coastal run.
Oh well, you can't have everything and I would rather work in an unheated garage on a mild day than on a cold day - and will quickly get colder.

I didn't do as much riding this year because of the unusual hot and humid weather, but next year if we have similar weather I'm going to do some early morning breakfast runs or coastal loops along the ocean before it gets hot, windy or both.
The heat and humidity of the day was just too much for me even in a mesh jacket and I refuse to not wear a jacket. My Eskimo blood just can't take it BGRIN

As we like to say here, "I'll see you in the spring if I don't see you earlier in the mattress."

Know the feeling Rocky.
Took mine for the short trip up to the gas station last week end to warm the oil and top up the tank.
Changed the oil and removed battery, and placed it on it's stand I made to keep it upright. (takes up less room that way).
Just have to give 'er a wipe down and cover it and all done.
:ice2:

I just can't imagine not being able to ride all year, winter is probably the best time here to get out on the road as you just put on a fleecy top under yoour jacet and you are fine, I didn't even get out my winter gloves this year.

It's freaking snow in Houston!!! Last week it was 84degF and I had snow this afternoon when I took the dog out. Granted the Farmers Almanac said it was going to be a cooler, wetter winter than normal but SNOW in HOUSTON in NOVEMBER????

Ok, it was only about a dozen snowflakes that I saw but this is HOUSTON, the location the devil goes to when hell is too cold for him.

Wow, that is a bit stunning for that area FACE

Update:
After the sun came up this morning, and I looked outside, I could see a light dusting of snow on the garage roof :y40:

Oh well, it will soon be gone as it's just an overnight thing this time of year......I think :y27:

This time last week it was 15C (59F) as I was putting the bikes away.
I made the right call and just in time it seems.
This morning it's -6C (21F) FACE and I'm smiling that all my bikes are in where it's warm and dry.

FACE FACE FACE it just started to snow and storm warnings are out for some areas due to drifting snow and high winds.

And to think that just last Thursday and Friday it was around 15C (59F) and perfect riding weather.

The only saving grace is that it's still early for winter and this may not last.

We got 6 to 8 inches of the white stuff last night...……..TOO EARLY, TOO EARLY!! Hopefully it'll melt as the temps are moving up and it's raining...…….it's just too soon to put the bikes up for "their long Winter nap"!!
