You should be able to drain the gas through the petcock. That's how I do it.
If you intend to use the petcock on the new tank, then you can drain the tiny bit that may be left when the petcock is removed.
Nobody will laugh at your workplace. It's great that you have such a place. It's not the place you have to work in, it's the work that is done there.
Good job you are doing TUP
Well, I need to admit that my dad removed the old oil filter. It was so tight. I simply could not remove it. My dad thought that ex. person had not put any oil to that oil filter (screwed it up as dry). It really was that tight.

When it came time to change the oil for the first time on my new 2014 H+++a, the factory had put the oil filter on so tight I didn't think I would ever break it loose. I worked at it for a long time and it finally broke free, so I understand the frustration.

Parts arrived from the UK. Now I can try to put the bike one piece again (next weekend)

Triumph is again one piece and ready for the next riding season. Almost two months until the next riding season starts, so I was ready in good time :)

It was a little tricky to remove the fuel level sender baboon from the old/black tank and then install those in the green tank. Small hands helped on that (I think).

Matt green looks pretty nice? At least I like the color more than glossy black. I might do something on those black wheels . Just as I have green-white stickers for wheels with text: Triumph Tiger 800.
