BTW......My Wife was given my Mom's mangle (it still works perfectly), but she could never master it's use. She ruined several shirts of mine (of course she experimented with MY clothes and not her own!) before giving up trying. That mangle still sits in my basement collecting dust.

I should probably donate it to some museum or something?

Not to sound like a know-it-all here, but a "mangle" was a clothes press type thingy used to put amazing creases in pants and stuff. It had large heated rollers that you ran the clothes through. They took some practice to master them.

The WRINGER was the roller thing that squeezed the water out of clothes after washing....some were hand cranked and some were electric with a foot button to activate them.

As Rocky said, different words - different places. A mangle in the UK is a wringer in the US
