I am restoring a 1978 Bonneville T140V. What is the best way to remove the rear wheel bearings. I have them exposed but do not have any of the Triumph tools. I know there is a spacer between the bearings. Any thoughts?
Thanks Ron
You don't have the conical hubs but the quick release type. So I would just use a drift through one side to tap out the other side's bearing. There's an inner race and a dust cap. If there's a retaining ring, use a punch to unscrew it.
They're a bugger, I know that! Thin chisel that can get a bite on the joint between the spacer and bearing is almost the only thing I've ever gotten to work, other than a screwdriver...
