Our first blast of winter

Here in the east, last winter was one of the mildest and with the lightest snowfall in recorded history. It certainly was that as I didn't use my snowblower once all winter.
Environment Canada released a statement today saying that we should expect more of the same this year - above normal temps and probably a light snowfall.
I was grouching the other day about the first blast of winter.
Today, it's 8C (46F) and will be most of the week :y13:

It was reported yesterday that due to the light snowfall last winter, and the reduced spring runoff, the might Great Lakes haven't been replenished enough to keep the level of the St. Lawrence River at a normal shipping level. This means that some of the larger cargo ships are in danger of running aground which is keeping them away.
Some cargos that would normally come east have to be shipped by rail and the ships then pick them up at eastern ports.
Lighter snowfalls are great for my back, but it could mean higher costs and you know who pays for that.

I hope the folks up in North Central Texas (Don's area to be exact) has their fur lined underwear on. . . radar is snowing sleet & snow falling at this time to the north and west of Dallas.

Heck it's even got cold around here, it's currently 49.1 DegF (9.5 C) and yesterday evening as I was leaving the house for work it was 81 DegF (27.2 C) with the A/C running and the low for tomorrow is projected to be 29 DegF (-1.7C). That's Texas weather for you, summer one day and winter the next.

That's the crazy yo-yo weather we get here too.
The past few days it's been around 12C(54F), but snow and freezing rain is expected today :y13:

Tony is right on!!!

Woke up to 28F (-2C).

I usually depend on the pull of the leashes while walking the dogs to get me "moving" for the day.

Today, they nearly ran me to death. They were hustling to keep their body heat up. (They only weigh 9lbs apiece but pull like freight trains) ROTFL

Sorry about your first winter blast etc ...

It's 10.00PM well dark, 21 C about 70 F and I'm in the garage with the radio playing, door open, drinking cold beer and cleaning my Street Triple. :y2:

EDIT,

Sharron just said, don't upset the people from up north, tell them we have a spare room downstairs. :y15:
