Not an exact cover but . . . Jimmy Page and Robert Plant get credit for writing it yet all they did was change up some of the lyrics from the version of Lead Belly's time. Lead Belly probably heard the song growing up and then recorded it. The history of the song can be traced back to medieval times. Yes Lead Belly recorded it as "Gallis Pole" and Zep as "Gallows Pole" but the actual name shows to be "Maid Freed from The Gallows."
