I have been extremely busy lately, trying to get the lake house the way I want it (and maintaining the yard that is full of oak trees), tending to my guitar trading, maintaining my 6.5 acre yard at my main place, completely rennovating a guest bath, and of course working a full-time 50 hour a week job, so I have let my Suzuki thumper projects decline a bit.
Last evening after supper, I decided to ride the DR350 and the DR200 around the yard a few times and see how my prior work had turned out. The DR350 started and ran, but not well; it needs a carb rebuild. Anyway the last time I rode the DR200 it was fine, last night it wouldn't start - the carb is totally gummed up.
Ain't ethanol great?
I have started buying nothing but ethanol free gasoline for all my non-cage vehicles and small engines and I use Sta-Bil religiously. Obviously the persons I bought these bikes from never used it at all.
Oh, and just if you were interested, I am riding the Bonnie regularly at the Ozark lake house. Its awesome to pull out of the neighborhood directly onto twisty mountain roads with sparse traffic.
Anyway, I know from experience that the first time you do anything it will take 3 times as long as it should; I just don't have 10-12 hours to remove, rebuild and replace two carbs and I sure don't want to haul these to a deal that will charge me $600 or more per bike to do it. Any volunteers?
