*UPDATE*....she is finally running!!! The person who laid hands on the carbs needs to be flogged. They had over torqued everything to the point that it cut the seals in half. Warped the bowls....etc. etc. Timing was off by 30 degrees...there was a laundry list of problems, but she is running now. Jon told me the motor, transmission, alternator, and the rest of the electrical system are in great shape. He is changing out the bars and taking off the Harley parts that were installed and is going to return it to more of a Triumph setting. Tonight I will go to bed a happy camper. Very pleased!!!

...I saw the bike then and started it up, but was unable to take it home at that time due to transportation issues. Long story short, I picked the bike up Monday and brought it home. I have not been able to get it to start...

Now, my question is, who messed with the carb and timing in between the time you saw it started, and the time you got it home? Too wierd.

Anyway, glad it's in good hands now and will soon be back on the road where it belongs.

Those were the questions I asked myself too.
Delighted to hear that the old girl is singing her favourite song once again.
Enjoy TUP

The modern Triumph shops generally do not work on the Meriden Triumphs and they don't have any different access to the old manuals than you do. Most of the younger techs at the shops know nothing about working on vintage bikes. Look around for a person that works on vintage bikes. The Triumph dealer may know of such a person/shop.
