DAMN!

UPS just dropped off a package for me and i thought my new little tank bag would be in it.

Instead, there was just one of those bungee nets in the box that I also ordered with the bag. The mini GPS bag is on backorder!!! :y14:

When I ordered the bungee net, I was thinking that I had lost my old one that I had. Then, last night when I was going to Bike Nite, I found the old one inside one of my panniers.....so I didn't need to buy another one.

Now, I get the item I didn't really need while I have to wait for the thing I was hoping to check out ASAP.

Yes, I was really hoping too!

Well, in the mean time......I'm supposed to get my GIVI top box and the Bluetooth thingy tomorrow.

Plus, I still have to get around to changing wheels on the Trophy.

I got the tank bag in the mail today and I would highly recommend it!

The quality is top-notch. It's got rubberized large zipper handles you could easily pull with gloves. It had a reflective stripe around it. The base is a no-skid, no-marring rubber-like material. Every compartment has a rubberized grommet which leads to the other and each compartment has a grommet to the outside that seals it from the rain. Inside the main compartment are velcro wire holders, a cellphone holder and a large elastic strap. The GPS window is easy to see through and there's elastic straps inside to hold your GPS (in a X pattern). The magnets are SUPER strong to hold it to your tank and you can remove the magnets (in little velcro pounches) and replace them with supplied suction cups if you want to stick it on your tank that way. It also has an elasticized rain cover with a see-through plastic band so you can still see your GPS. You can unzip the whole thing from the base in case you use the straps to hold it down.

There is nothing about it that wasn't thought out very well.

The ONLY thing I would prefer they did was make the plastic strap attachments removable or able to hide away if you're not going to use the strap down method.

Anyone thinking of one of these or it's bigger brother....I would say it is money well spent!

I tested it out last night and it passed with flying colors. With my fairing, I had no worries about the magnets being strong enough to hold it to the tank. I can't say how well they'd do on an unfaired bike. I think if I were using it on an unfaired bike, I would probably want to use the straps or switch-out the magnets for the 4 suction cups which look like they'd be quite strong.

Placement on the tank of course is important since if you place it too close to you, it's harder to look down at the GPS than if you place it forward.

Since the GPS is inside the zippered compartment, you do have to partially unzip it to turn off/on the GPS itself. Luckily, my on/off switch is located at the top-left and the zipper starts on the left so that wasn't a problem. But if your GPS has it's on/off switch in another place, it could be a small hassle.

I had no trouble using the touch screen through the plastic window even with gloves on. The zipper pulls are rubberized and large enough to use with gloves also.
