yeah, that was the cheapest by far of the 3 places i asked. A solid color will of course be far cheaper. i would say you could probably get that done for about $500 for a average quote. just a guess, but it's miles easier for them to do.

Dave, i'm the total opposite.... i love the speedy blue. For one, i don't like non metallic paint except for black, and even then i prefer metallic because it doesn't show scratches near as much as regular black. (tho i think NM black looks better when you don't see the scratches) Look at any non metallic paint on a car and no matter what the color you see a ton of spider webbing. (the fine scratching from washing/waxing) Plus i just find metallic colors look better in most, tho not all cases. One example where i think non metallic looks better is the orange and white bonnie. But any form of blue or red especially i much prefer metallic. Plus i don't like the shade of blue on that 1600. To me it's one of my least fav colors i have seen on a triumph so far.....well, along with that silver on the tour version in that video.(silver just doesn't look right on a bike to me)

I have owned one metallic colour car and never again. It looks great when you first get it but as you say after some time it really looks bad. So if I was to go for this one I would rather look at the black as well.

Dave, i'm shocked you say that because metallics always show less scratches. It's because the metallic is a fine texture look which makes fine scratches all but invisable. Solid colors have nothing there to make them less visible. Darker colors also show more, so when you combine black, the darkest color with non metallic you get the worse finish there is in this regard. ever look closely at a black car, especially in the right light? They look great new, but after the first 2 or 3 washes they look like steel wool. even the lightest color if not metallic will look bad quickly. White is a good example. And even the slightly darker silver which being darker should show more actually shows far less. One of the best in this regard actually because silver is almost always metallic and till recent years white was always non metallic. I have no idea why you saw that, but i think most anyone will tell you metallics show less scratching. What color was the one you're talking about?

I now purchase my cars in any colour as long as it is white :y114: I have had red metallic and silver. My other car is still silver metallic. I like my Speedy red and black it is great :y18:
