Nice Tigger you done gone and got. Of course you know that this now puts you in with the TT Misfits. We expect you to uphold our reputation and our quest to get the name Triumph Talk changed to Tiger Talk. BGRIN
Thanks Hemi. Still don't have it YET, dammit. Waiting for those darned side and top cases to come in. Can't wait.
Yeah, I kinda figured I'd get dragged into the misfit group. You guys were getting kind of quiet lately, so I'm here to get you stirred up again. Now where is that Keystiger character at?

What is taking so long to get them?

Were not ordered until last Monday as I signed paperwork on the Saturday two days prior. They said normally takes 5 days for stuff to come in from Triumph. Was our first long week end here(Victoria Day) so that may have delayed their arrival as well. Should be here tomorrow or the next day I would think. weather is absolute c**p here this week so would probably not want to get it before Friday anyways.

How can you say no?????

ONLY 2500 kms from my place to Barber Museum and 24 hrs. Hmmmmmm.
Would love to come. Sounds like an EPIC adventure, and by the sounds of you lot, definitely memorable.
Unfortunately, this summer is already planned. Big Come Home Year in my hometown of Corner Brook, Newfoundland.
Can maybe think of something next year.

My summer is lanned out also. However, fall is a good tim to go there when it is not so hot. Vintage Bike Days are held at Barber in October complete with vintage races. I have attended four times and camped there. We can definitely work something out.

Well! Finally got everything in. Being installed tomorrow and we(wife and I) will go down Saturday to pick it up. Supposed to be a nice 22C here(warmest day so far this year).
Will take the long scenic way home. Gotta break it in right with no continuous engine speed, so the back roads home it will be.
Looking forward to Saturday.........ALOT!
Will try to get some pics of the trip and post up after.

ma people buy Harley Davidson's , what made you pick the 1600cc Bonneville .
I know its a stupid question.
But when you have done a few miles , what's it like to ride , good and not so good !
I have given up reading magazine reporters stuff , for obvious reasons.

Bought a 1200 Tiger Explorer. Not sure where you saw 1600 Bonneville in my posts.
Bought it for lighter weight(about 300lbs lighter), better suspension, more upright riding position, less bike to clean(read chrome).
Will post up my thoughts/opinion after I get some time and kms/miles on it

My error , not that familiar with the modern bikes , but I certainly like them.
On sitting on a few, I have definitely felt that the modern ones are definitely all a lot heavier than the 60's versions. But the quality is outstanding.

Though my 03 Bonneville T100 was about 50 pounds heavier than my 1968 TR6R, in general, the modern bikes are liquid cooled vs the older bikes being air cooled. This adds weight. Newer bikes have catalytic converters and other stuff that older bikes didn't have that add weight. My TR6 feels like a feather weight compared to my 2012 Tiger 800 XC. Part of that is due to the higher center of gravity of the Tiger and, of course, the Tiger is heavier.

Picked up the Tiger yesterday as per the plan. Was a beautiful day and even reached 25C here. Was a cool 16C by the coast on our scenic ride home. Will have to wait for some pics as my wife took them with her phone and didn't get a chance to download them yet.
Bike ran great and handles great. Surprised at the smoothness and agility of this big Tiger. Did not push it as still breaking her in, but easy to speed on this bike without realizing it. Deceivingly fast. Smoother, faster, more agile than my T'bird. What's not to like. Handles the bumps way better than the T'bird as well, and glad it does as ran into a small section of absolute cr*p road that's barely fit for a 4X4 truck.
Only hiccup was that the rear mounting plate for the top box did not arrive in time for them to be able to mount it. The wrong one was ordered initially and the proper one did not get there on time. When it comes in they will send it to me and I will install it myself. NO MORE DELAYS.
300 kms on it yesterday, Now just gotta get the next 500 on so I can get the break in service done. Times are rough.;)
