I don't know how anyone can enjoy winter, seems I am coming down with the flu now right at the end of it

Yes even down this side it has been a harsh one with lots of rain making everything contently damp and cold, us South Africans are just babies we are not build for it

Dave you're so right - we S'Africans don't do winter well at all. Last weekend it was up to early 20's in Jhb and great. Monday & Tuesday great - then Mother Nature did her usual thing and just as we were being lulled into a false sense of summer, She whacked us an overnight of 2 and daytime high of 13! But apparently Jhb will get to around 26 or 27 this weekend! Roll on summer.

Well we are also have this up and down and this is what make people sick. I normally don't get flu so this is a bit unusual for me but I am taking meds for it now so hopefully I will nail it before it nails me

Decades ago it would stay winter for a solid couple of months - December through to February - before it moderated some.
Over time it became about six weeks of solid winter, but now the temp ranges up and down so much you never know what to expect in the winter time.
It can be brutally cold for a few days, then zoom up above freezing and then down again.
However, it's now summer and it looks like remnants of hurricane Irene will be with us on Sunday or Monday.
Fingers are crossed.
I was watching it moving over and was wondering who was going to be hit by it

ye get you'r self a nice single malt ! ancnoc 18yr that will sort you out ! or nock you out
You need to have a few shots of some Kentucky Bourbon or Tennessee Whiskey if thats all you have and follow it up with some real Mountain Dew (not the can of soft drink). It might not cure you of the flu but after the third or fourth round you won't care.
