Here it happens pretty much every weekend in the angeles forest twisties, at least during the summer. I'd say 50% of the times i go up on the weekend at least one bike is down and many are fatalities. Just saw a fatality happened up there yesterday actually, tho i wasted up there, just saw it on the news. But yeah, it's a very high risk hobby to say the least. and the more you realize and fear that the safer you'll be. But theres always the unavoidable unfortunately. I quit riding for 20 years due to my fear of this. Probably would never have got back in if i didn't happen upon seeing a speedmaster. I just could not stop thinking about that bike and it sucked me back in when i thought i was done with them for life.

Exactly. Of course not to the degree you're too scared, but a healthy fear of it that doesn't affect you to the degree you're shaking in your boots is truly necessary or you're doomed. fear is what causes me to use the tactics i do in order to avoid potential disasters. I did NOT have that fear when i was young, and i ate lots of asphaut even ending up in hospitals a couple times. Thats eventually put the fear in me and kept me upright since.
