Alas, my first motorcycle won't be a Triumph...

Here it is...



1979 Yamaha XS 400 2F

Just over 24,000 miles, new battery, mufflers, clutch cable, front fender and a couple other bits. Starts quick (kick-start only), seems to run well, sounds good. Will need an adjustment to the clutch according to a back yard neighbour.

Apparently I was the third person who showed much interest, but the only one who showed up. Got it for $800.

Funny thing is, the guy who sold it said his dad really wanted a Triumph, but got this one instead. The plan was to restore it, but he didn't expect it to cost as much as it was starting to.

Good find for $800.00. Congratulations. I like Yamahas and have owned several.

Looks just fine to me, but the best part is that you have the soul of the Triumph, it's a parallel twin you have. Stick some Triumph stickers on the tank and your halfway there.
