I am not sure how serious I am about this, but I have been thinking about decat-ing my 2022 T100 for a bit. Found that my catalytic converter is welded — I suspected this, but confirmed this weekend. I have some questions:

+ Has anyone done a decat on a 2022 T100 with a welded converter? If so, what did you do?

+ Someone suggested a muffler shop that could remove converter and weld in direct connecting pipes — this does not seem like a good idea to me, but is it feasible?

+ Does anyone know which year T100 started welding these pipes and headers to the converter?

+ Seems like getting new headers and connecting pipes from a similar year which are not welded might work if they fit. Does anyone know if headers and connecting pipes from a non-welded year would fit my 2022 T100 (e.g. 2021, 2020, other)?

Thanks all for any information you can provide!

The key role of a catalytic converter in a vehicle's exhaust system is to minimise the emission of harmful pollutants and gases emitted by the engine, such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and hydrocarbons, prior to their release into the atmosphere. This contributes towards improving air quality and protecting public health

Modern bikes have more power than any normal street rider can safely utilise. Still,
everyone to their own conscience.

I understand about the air quality, and right or wrong, it would be more for the increased sound of the stock exhaust. Not looking for judgement, and not even sure I would go to the expense or trouble in doing so, but looking for more information.

Either way, thanks for the response.

Easiest way would be to find a stock exhaust from 2020 or older. They were not welded I believe. Replace converter with X pipe from Motone or other aftermarket maker. Would have to confirm fitment of course beforehand.

That was my thought too. I was hoping someone else may have already gone down this road and could provide additional details or information for me to consider. Thank you for the information.
