2004 T100 Bonnie

Hey all, I have a question. I am doing a top end rebuild on Bonneville T100 865cc 2004. While the head is off I will replace the piston rings also.
Does anyone know if the cylinder can be taken off with the engine in the frame. I was able to remove the head no worries, but don’t really want to have to remove the engine if I don’t need too.

Personally do not have experience with removing the cylinders with the engine in place. I would think the frame would obstruct lifting the cylinder out. If someone has personal experience, please chime in.

Easily done on a Meridian 650 , if memory service still good .

When in doubt, consult the service manual. If replacing pistons and rings the manual should state whether engine removal is required.

Thanks for that, yeh I think I have enough room between the studs and frame, just wondering how much extra length on the cylinder that inserts into the case

The barrels come off no problem at all, lots of room. A second set of hands is useful for reinstallation though.
