Cruise Control Not Cancelling.

Hi, I have a 2023 Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer. When using the cruise control, if I accelerate above the set speed and then wind the accelerator all the way back to cancel the cruise control it does not cancel. If I touch the brake or clutch it will cancel but not by using the accelerator. If I am on or below the set speed I can cancel using the accelerator.

This does not seem right to me and has caught me out a couple of times with me thinking it is cancelled but when I get back to the set speed the bike stops decelerating (as the CC has not cancelled).

Is this how it operates for others?

If this is one of the ways of cancelling the cruise as per manual then perhaps take it to your dealer. Should be still under warranty. Could be a bad throttle switch
I know mine has this and works all the time, but is a few years older, so different programing and parts.
If I think I will need to slow down after accelerating, as in a pass/overtake, I just roll the throttle forward before the maneuver, and resume cruise when it's okay to do so.
 
Thanks guys. The switch works as it should except for if I am going faster than the set speed. The manual says this is a way of cancelling the cruise control.

Qship, I get caught out when I am not expecting to have to slow down after accelerating but have to so roll the throttle forward expecting the CC to be cancelled.

sikatri, I mentioned it to the dealer (service manager) last time I was there and he had not heard of the issue. He did acknowledge it seemed strange. He was going to contact Triumph.

Just though I'd ask to see if anyone else was experiencing the same.

Let us know what the dealer says. You are likely not the first person to run across this. Might be normal.
