I recently purchased a pre-owned 2018 Tiger 800 XRT, in pristine condition, and with just 4900 miles. On trying the cruise control, it doesn't activate by pushing the set button. Before I start with the switchgear to see if it has power, has anyone had a problem with theirs?

I don't recall anyone ever having a problem with their cruise like you mention. Have you checked anywhere else? Hopefully it's something simple like a bad fuse. Looks like the bike wasn't riden much. Was it stored indoors or out?

The first thing i checked was for a fuse. The manual doesn't show a specific fuse for it, and everything else works! The bike was stored inside, so not a corrosion issue. I hate electrical gremlins, but I'll start checking power at the switch, and move on from there before taking it to the dealer.

Lack of use can cause a whole lot of issues, like sticking switches. Are the brake lights working properly(no sticking switches there)?
Do you have the problematic bluetooth module fitted to your bike? If so, maybe it's causing issues with the cruise control.
Just throwing out ideas of possible problem areas.

I don't know about the 18 tiger, but on my 19 scrambler there are conditions that can disable cruise. Mine was disabled after I had the dealer update the firmware.

The process to re-enable was pretty straight forward once I found it. I believe I just turned the ignition on (just on, but do not start the bike), then ran through the controls that can disable cruise. From memory I think I had to hit the front brake, the rear brake, the clutch, cycle the throttle both directions, then hit the cruise button. I'm sure that isn't exact, but you should be able to find the process online with some searching.

Thanks! I'll have to try it once the weather gets better, so I can test it. There's no on/off switch on the 17's and newer, so I won't know if it turns on until I can get above 30, in 4th gear.
