We are catching up with everybody, we have 3087 cases and 111 deaths due to the virus as of today.
That is not good news. What you are seeing is the problem with this virus. It is not that deadly, but it it is so infectious.

I actually think the lock down procedures are as much to do with maintaining public order as they are to do with controlling spread of the virus.

On another tack, I found this video on FB interesting. FB now flag it a 'False' but who really knows? You can still view it there or on YouTube.

There are experts interviewed who do provide what appears to be convincing arguments that the Covid-19 virus was man-made by combining bat coronavirus' with SARS and HIV elements in order to allow the bat virus to infect humans and attack their immune system. Also that it originated at the Wuhan research laboratory.

Take it for what it is; it may all be true or complete BS as far as I know.

I agree with you about the maintaining public order - which is certainly important. Regarding the video, this theory has been circulating since December. It may or may not be true. We will probably never know.

About Facebook's fact checking, fact checking can easily be stacked or slanted. I really don't trust Facebook any more than I trust Communist China.

Well we now entering a scary stage of this virus where we seeing a high number of health workers being infected.

We also seeing a high infection rate in hospitals to the point where some of them are having to close. Most of these infection are people that were admitted for other reasons and then got infected.

It has now also hit a number of our prisons where we see an overpopulated number of prisoners being housed.

Ths has also just come to light, this is our 911 emergency number.

Over 20,000 deaths is terrible, but deaths from other causes are much higher - road traffic accidents over 382,000 for example. Why does nobody seem to care about those deaths? Certainly not enough to shut down the country.

Pause for thought.
This is my thought on why they care so much about this virus vs all the other things on the list. Unchecked this virus would overwhelm our health care systems in a few weeks and then the real carnage would begin. The #s estimates if we all went back to our normal life is a loss of 5+% of the world's population. That is 300,000,000 people. This virus kills 1% infected if there is good healthcare. Over 5% if there is none. Every human can be infected.
Yes it looks stupid but where are those #s actually from. If most of the world is self isolating. Traffic deaths should of dropped dramatically and flu transmission should of decreased. Who is putting out the #s? Big business?

Ye thats a very sad image.... we have had the same thing here but the government have put money up to get them into B+B and sheltered accomidation , it does make you wonder if countries realy wanted too they may be able to almost make it a thing of the past ? ... it just takes the will to do it .

Here the numbers come from the government and private organizations such as the National Safety Council.

Im starting to get a bit of cabin fever now ive not left the estate for 6 weeks :y20:
but today im going on a beer run :y150:
I have been riding almost everyday on short trips - to Lowes, Home Depot, the grocery store, etc. A buddy and I have a good ride planed for tomorrow with about 20 miles of off pavement riding. As long as we stay six feet/ two meters apart, we are in compliance. Both of us are over 75 years old; thus we will avoid close contact with others.

Have to agree with your thinking Duez , the bottom line will be health care services . If we keep up what we are doing and move the curve down to the bottom of of the chart that would be a huge victory to get things back to where we were February 1 or so. But if we open things up a bit and start a second wave I’m afraid the health care professionals , still alive , would just lock the doors and go home .

I too worry about a second wave. We have the curve being flattened or maybe in decline but this is with humans isolating. Most of the population has not been exposed. So when we get back to business and restrictions lift the exposure rate goes back up and I fear we are back in the thick of things. Till there is a vaccine or the whole world pop has been exposed and recovered this never goes away. The scary part is even if there is a vaccine this will mutate and in 10 yrs come Covid 29 that we have no vaccine for. Maybe if we create one for this strain the next strain will be easy to figure out the next vaccine.
These always start in a place of overpopulation and where livestock and humans interact. Makes me wonder if the world cannot support the population we have but what do we do. No more babies? No more animal harvesting? Become a Vegetarian world. We would die from the pesticides that would be needed to grow that much food.
Starting to think the human species is frigging doomed.
Enough doom and gloom. I have a job still, I am thankful my family is healthy, the snow finally quit and the temp is rising. Bike may come out in a couple of weeks.

I was listening to a professor and he was saying right now Africa is the biggest threat as they do not have the health care or chase to fight this virus. He went on to say that this could make the virus mutate into a stronger strain and thus spread across the globe once again making it an even worse disaster than what we currently have. What he also said is that the international community would need to come together and fund the fight against it in Africa.

I believe he is correct. I worry about the strings the international community will want attached with the aid. Not sure what the larger issue is going to be for the people of Africa. I hope but have no faith that the humans donating will not not want something back. Just seen it here in Canada. Our province donated a bunch of medical gear and with it came the statement. "Hope they remember this when this is all done". Inferring they are going to ask for stuff later.
