Brekkie run a bit dampened.

Went out with my missus, DaveB another mate Marc and his missus Chell to Magalies today - it was great riding weather, the sun was shining and everything's turning green.
The rain has washed loads of loose gravel and sand onto the roads so the going was laid back and chilled.

However, on the way there we came across a father and son, where the son had dumped his 125 pretty hard. He was okay though.

Carried on to our eating spot and had a great meal and chat. DaveB split off as he was heading to Harties to go visit a mate, so we carried on back through Kromdraai - thinking that there wouldn't be any cyclists due to the fact of the big race around Jo'burg for them.
Came across another accident through Kromdraai - looks as if a rider went in way hot and couldn't make the turn. We saw his bike upside down tangled in the fence. There were already a load of bikes stopped so we just slowed right down and passed through.

Both accidents 'appear' to be rider errors, but can't say for sure. Still though, it kinda puts a damper on the whole ride when you see accidents regardless of who was at fault.

Anyways - I'm just chuffed I got to get back on the bike again. :y115:

Avion, sure am glad to hear you are riding again. Seeing a bike accident, especially while riding, does put a damper on one's mood. When Me Lyne and I were riding home after the shuttle launch, we came upon a scene of about six or seven cages pulled into the median and a few more on the shoulder. A wrecker was in the process of lifting a Goldwing. It was a suburban area and I have no idea what happened or if the rider was injured.

Over the years I've come across 2-3 bikers in distress due to mechanical problems and offered assistance, but never a crash scene - and I hope I never do!
My own crash scene was enough for me, thank you very much!

My bike club meets for brekky every Sunday morning too. We had a crowd of 17 today due to the mild temperature of 17C (63F). We've been in this blast of warm southern air for well over a week, but it looks like 0C come midweek - and back to normal for this time of year.

17C?

count your lucky stars...it's a numbing 6C here in Dublin, Ireland....and due to a few additional Arthur Guinness last night, I didn't get out for a spin today :y55:
