December 2015 was the mildest December on record here.
When we were in NYC over Christmas they had record breaking mild temps. One day it was 22C (71F) and the mild air flowed northeast and across this area.
But that all came to a crashing halt last night.
I woke up to -12C (10F) this morning :ice: and it's still only around -10C
:ohwell: this is Canada and it's winter time so that's to be expected.
Milder later in the week "they" say.

-12C? That's it?:D Was -18C here this morning, then when the sun came up went down to -22C for a while before it climbed to a balmy -11C.
We're supposed to get the milder temps up this way too, Rocky, later in the week.
You're right, after the warm December we had these cold temps suck.
Was +13 here on Christmas Day. That's very unusual.
Down in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia where my in laws live and where we spent Christmas Day, it was +17-18C. Had the patio door open all day while cooking the Christmas dinner.

my God. I was still wearing shorts just last week. Then all of a sudden, I'm throwing on my heavy coat, gloves, and scarf! WTF?? bike is now being winterized. Even though I have heated gear, it's really not much fun going out in the freezing temperatures. I don't ride to work because I have to drop my wife off first (and she carries tons of stuff with her) before heading into the office. And I don't feel comfortable riding while wearing a suit and tie. for all of you hard core winter riders out there, my hat comes off to you! :Salute2:

I think Rocky has been hiding what shoveling snow is really like. . . Trying to save it all for himself. :y2:

RAW: Shovelling to the beat of African drums

ROTFL that is toooo funny!!!!

Well.....if you can't do anything about the weather you may as well have some fun with it BGRIN

I'm happy to report that the temps have come up and it's just above the freezing mark and quite warm on the face in the sun.

Now.........where did I put that Santa Claus hat!!

At least you can warm up

We are having one of the hottest summers ever recorded
Severe heat waves, extreme humidity coolest has been about 36C
The rains have finally come and some drought stricken places have received some relief
Game and farm animals have been starving to death from lack of rain and no grazing
Maize crops were never planted due to no rain this season

What I would not do for some cool snow :chicken:
