We've had out first cold snap this week (going into winter now)
and it's 19 Celsius

he he he we don't experience cold like you guys do though
I don't think I'd survive one of your winters. Snow !!!!! I've seen it twice
in my lifetime and that was just a light covering, more sleet i think

I read that we had more snow this past winter than we've had in something like 150 years. Around 98 inches total.

We had a brutal winter too. It was not so much the amount of snow but the frequency of the storms that just kept building up.
It became a local joke that "If it's Wednesday, it must be snowing."
75% of our storms arrived in Wednesday. Today is Wednesday and it's storming, but thankfully it's only wind and rain at 13C(5F) :y1:

To be exact.....the correct figure is 133 years since we had 96+ inches of total snow. It doesn't mention how often snow fell.

I do know some large snow piles from plowing still haven't melted away. It's actually better if it melts gradually so our rivers don't overflow and ice jams don't create dams on the rivers.

Flooding rivers is the problem many areas may be facing as the snow melts here and in neighbouring provinces.

Flood state here in many parts of the province. Sussex, NB has declared a state of emergency. The Saint John river has reached flood levels. And it's going down to -10C here tonight. Oh goody! Yes that was sarcasm ;)

It was NB and the Saint John river in particular I was thinking about after I saw the CTV news.
I hope everyone comes through OK.
