When I woke up this morning at 6:30 it was -23C (-8F). I had to be at physio by 8:00 so braved it and showed up as scheduled.
It's now just past 1:00 PM and the temp is up to a blazing -17C (2F).
Now, where did I put my shorts and tank top :ya2:

Rocky, having just read that I.ll stop complaining about our cold weather, in comparison we are having a heat wave of 6 degrees C . :y115:

Yesterday, we had a major PGR mission in Daytona Beach. It was both cold (for Florida) and humid, Which increases the wind chill. Usually it is dryer when cold. It was right around 33 degrees F (barely above 0 degrees C) at sunrise when all of us were traveling. I was in the the warmth of a cage with a lovely chauffeur. It did warm up to about 60 F (15.6 C); but there was still a wind chill. Today has been a repeat of yesterday. If one has to be grounded, now is a good time!

I was cold this mourning working.....got to my first one around 7am. Spoke to me Mum on Monday Geoff and she told me its bloody cold. Im coming back on the 31st.

Rocky that Temp. is tropical for you mate..... :y114:

It never got above 0 F today here in the Northern suburbs, although I heard them say on the radio that it got up to 7 F in the city itself. Once the sun went down, it began dropping again fast.

Of course, the cold sucked all the air pressure out of the tires, so I had to spend an hour outside re-filling tires on all my vehicles. I also have to keep a kerosene heater blowing on my (diesel) tractor so it'll start....the diesel truck has it's own electric engine block heater (which cost me a whopping $290.00 USD in electric bills to keep running last Month!).

My local forecast (temperatures = F) :

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around -12. Wind chill values as low as -24. Southwest wind between 7 and 10 mph.

Saturday: A chance of snow, mainly after 3pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 18. Wind chill values as low as -26. South wind between 7 and 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Saturday Night: Snow, mainly after 4am. Low around 15. South wind between 13 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 3 inches.

Sunday: Snow, mainly before 1pm. High near 29. Southwest wind between 9 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Sunday Night: A chance of snow showers. Cloudy, with a low around 13. West wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

He He He...

only 28deg Cent here today and that's below average for us this time of the year... Gonna be in the mid 30's tomorrow (Sunday) and I'm not working so I think it will be a warm ride along the Great Ocean Road for morning coffee!

Bit of a bugger that eh!

Yes I know what it is like to get really cold in winter. We have some really freezing temp here as well getting down to around 9 degree Celsius = 48.2 degree Fahrenheit in the early morning and only reaching around 16 degree Celsius = 60.8 degree Fahrenheit at midday. The worst thing is this freezing weather seems to drag out for at least a week in winter and I need to actually wear a jacket the whole day  :y114: It is really hard living in Africa :y34: :y54:

It's beyond me how you guys can even exist in that kind of weather ! On rare occasion (tho it recently did) it will just barely make it down to freezing here, and when it does walking out the door for me is an act of sheer bravery ! The temps you guys are talking about scare me to death. :oh:

For me, it's just part of living in Canada and we don't give it much thought. Winter comes and goes. We know it's coming so we just dig out the winter boots and jackets and carry on. Vehicles sold in Canada have block heaters that you plug into house current and you're good to go.
I have an unheated garage but don't bother to plug the car in.
You just do what you have to do and then it's spring - or what we like to call it - sprinter :ya2:
