At this point in March our normal/average temperature is usually around 0C (32F) and above freezing on a sunny day.
This morning it's -17C(1F)!!!!
For the past few days we've been in the grip of an Arctic cold front that has remained stationary. In some parts, cold temp records that have stood for 35 years, have been broken - shattered in fact!!!
But there is hope for the weekend when warmer southern air is expected to move up.
If there is any saving grace in all of this, the storm that swept over California and across the US was expected to bring us a nor'easter yesterday.
By the skin of our teeth the cold front bounced the storm offshore and it barely missed us. Phew!!!
Oh well, whatcha gonna do but put up with it CRY
I don't have to go anywhere so, since I'll be stuck inside for the day, I'll whip up a nice beef stew and a pan of wholewheat blueberry muffins :y15:

I know what you mean, we are usually in the 60's and 70's this time of year but we have had sleet, freezing rain and rain all night but it is warmer than it was yesterday morning. Temp this morning when I left work was 28 degrees.

What time will the stew and muffins be ready? I'll bring a pie for our desert. :y2:

:y23: I'll be serving tea at 4:00 PM!

BGRIN I knew that was going to happen as soon as I saw the plows approaching.
And that nitwit reporter should have known that was going to happen :y2:
For anyone who lives in a warm climate, and doesn't have or has never seen them, it's those big machines that keep our roads and streets clear across the US and Canada.

:y24: I saw this on the news this morning, He was reporting live when it happened.
The reporter must have heard the trucks coming and should have looked around, but at the same time I think the truck operator should have given him a blast on the horn.
Once those big machines get rolling in convoy there's no stopping them or slowing down on the open road.
I'm glad the reporter wasn't injured - and I think he may have learned a lesson.
