There has been a long running Canadian motorcycle TV program called "Motorcycle Experience." Each week in the 2011 series they have been showing a segment of a southern tour they're on and this week they finally arrived at The Dragon. Much was made of The Tree of Shame and all the broken motorcycle parts hanging from the limbs.
I have never been there, but I know about the area from shows like that and the internet.

If you will come down this way, I would be honored to take you there and let you see the tree of shame in person. I know folks who have parts on that tree - including a very good friend. After that we will ride the Dragon and hope we do not contribute to the tree!! One needs to ride the Dragon a couple of times to get the feel of it.

LOL Naw, you just ride sensibly at your level and concentrate. I am not expert in the twisties by any means. When we NTBF guys ride the Dragon, I am with the average group. Keith can flat ride those roads!

It does look like a road that would command your utter attention at all times. Boy I was just thinking it sure would take a lot out of me if I had to come over and ride it for the first time seeing you guys insist on riding on the wrong side of the road like that BGRIN

You drive on the left? I never considerd that, but probably should have known that since much of the Commonwealth does.
The only time I rode on the left was in Bermuda and it's hard to force yourself to ride on the "wrong" side. I was constantly on the wrong side for the first few minutes until I had a mind set about it.
Even so, entering a roundabout on the left side was the hardest because it was so un-natural for me and twice I took the wrong exit road and had to double back:y2:

I know that on the Isle of Man there are alot of accidents caused by people coming over from Europe, some okes have stickers stuck on their dash to make them remember to drive on the left. "Achtung links!!!"
The main problem is pulling out of petrol stations, sometimes you might even see road signs in the busier areas with a big LEFT on it.

...

It is really hard to switch from left to right or vice versa. You really have to concentrate until you do it long enough to feel natural at it. What I try to do is follow another rider or driver for a while.

I think on a bike it must be much harder doing this than in a car. You senses are so finally tuned when riding a bike any little thing that does not feel right is normally magnified 100 times
