Time didn't allow me to buy a windshield :( I'll have to make my own I suppose until I can get that sorted.

But, I found a coolant tank with all of the fittings and rubber filler plug for $40 which I thought was good. And a used 03' Tiger exhaust....which I noticed MIGHT not fit my 885, but if it doesn't, I can at the very least, cut and weld a mid-pipe out of it. That was $45 including shipping, AND it had the O2 sensor!!! Fairing should be here today too, crossing my fingers!

Oh man! That's my Tiger for SURE. If you didn't think so before....here she is now....ha! At least MOST of my parts are from Tigers...heh. (y):whistle2:

The fairing did come in. Rash on the one side, no biggie since I'm painting. I had a "nice" universal windshield that I was going to cut up, when I realized I had this crappy shield from a 1988 CBR600 that I cafe'd (aka the plastics were practically destroyed by a deer) anyways, I found that I could sell the universal one for more than the CBR...so I chopped up the CBR shield and it's not half bad! I'll paint it black anyways until I can find a suitable TIGER replacement! haha. But it could be worse looking if you ask me.....

The endless search for the perfect Tiger windshield........it goes ever ever on lol.

Keep up the good work Bruno......Tigers are very "eclectic" bikes ----more swiss army knife than trailer queen for sure. ;)

A LITTLE more....on to the electrickery this evening. Just picked up the proper battery (been using a dying one I've had just laying around for years from the Aprilia) Will get back into wiring it up and getting her going again.

New tires and tubes ordered. Front and rear Anakee 3's as the stock T66? are still on there...OLD. This bike has under 10K on her so it makes sense they would be original or close to it.

Welded up the "second" section from the 03' pipes to this one, and cut my own O2 sensor hole and welded a bung I had leftover from another project! (y) The 2003 955i Tiger exhaust will NOT fit the 1999 885i engine, mine has round holes, and the 955i has these square/oblong header pipes. Oh well, got the 02 sensor and midpipe for that cost and have a triple exhaust I can use for parts or learning more welding. ONWARD!!!! haha.:ROFLMAO:

Oh yeah. I'm the Macgyver of my generation...ha! Tried, but could not fix the front brake switch. Sent wires to the rear brake pressure switch and I'll just have to make sure I brake with the rear when I want people to know I'm stopping until I can get a replacement switch for the front. Cleaned it up and it just wouldn't make contact. VERY odd as separately they both worked, but when you touched them together...nothing. Well, here's where she ended up today after all was said and done. I've got to finish up some of my day job's work and then I'll go home and test ride it. New tires today too! Got rid of the T66 stockers and went with the Anakee 3's and new tubes of course! Ready to roll when I get home.

And report so far: Almost 200 miles, filling up again on the way home just to make sure I'm not on empty. The gas gauge acted up for a bit and now all seems fine :) Lost all electrical one night, had to push her a mile or two home :/ My fault. Found the reason and fixed the positive wire that was wreaking havoc! Other than that, still looking for cockpit moulding right and left sides. Seem to be impossible to find. Worst case, I'll bite the bullet and buy 2 at $78 each....or make my own. Made my own luggage racks for now. 2 bolts on/off so I can swap out and make it as interchangeable as I can for my various reasons. (check out my tire carrier!) Good times so far. Might rebuild the front forks, or at the very least (and probably the first thing I'll do) new shock oil in a heavier grade. Brakes are OK, need to clean them out as they are a bit sticky feeling. Not a smooth motion, but work great and aren't actually sticking, just not a smooth operation. Slowly getting her up to a safe and reliable daily driver! I think I've ridden this thing in to work every other day or so when I don't have to pick up my son from daycare. Good times. Hope you like the progress. She's come a long way. Thanks for all of the help!!!!! Cheers!

Bruno
